Source of Water: OAK RIDGE SANITARY DISTRICTBased on information obtained in a Well Site Survey, published in 1990 by the Illinois EPA, there was one
potential source of groundwater contamination within 1,000 feet of the Oak Ridge Sanitary District wells. In addition, it is important to note that the
residents of the subdivision utilize single dwelling septic tank systems that may be of concern. The Illinois EPA has determined that the Oak Ridge Sanitary
District Community Water Supply's source water is not susceptible to contamination. This determination is based on a number of criteria including:
monitoring conducted at the wells; monitoring conducted at the entry point to the distribution system; proximity of activities that could pose a potential risk to the source water.In available hydrogeologic data on the wells;
anticipation of the U.S. EPA's proposed Ground Water Rule, the Illinois EPA
has determined that the Oak Ridge Sanitary District Subdivision Community Water Supply is not vulnerability to viral contamination.
based upon the completed evaluation of the following criteria during the Vulnerability waiver Process: the community's wells are properly constructed with
sound integrity and proper site conditions; a hydrogeologic barrier exists that prevents pathogen movement; all potential routes and sanitary defects have
been mitigated such that the source water is adequately protected; monitoring data did not indicate a history of disease outbreak; and the sanitary survey of
the water supply did not indicate a viral contamination threat. Because the community's wells are constructed in a confined aquifer and the movement of
pathogens into the wells should be minimized, well hydraulics were not considered to be a significant factor in the vulnerability determination. Hence, well
hydraulics were not evaluated for this groundwater supply.

Monitoring Requirements Not Met for Oak Ridge SD
Our water system violated several drinking water standards over the past year. Even though these were not emergencies,
as our customers, you have a right to know what happened and what we did to correct these situations.
We are required to monitor your drinking water for specific contaminants on a regular basis. Results of
regular monitoring are an indicator of whether or not our drinking water meets health standards. During Jan.
to June 2025, we did not complete all monitoring for lead and copper and therefore cannot be sure of the
quality of our drinking water during that time.

Reporting Requirements Not Met for Oak Ridge SD
Our water system violated a drinking water standard over the past year. Even though this was not an
emergency, as our customers, you have a right to know what happened and what we did to correct this
situation.
The Oak Ridge SD public water supply failed to submit the required source water and/or optimal
corrosion control treatment recommendations by 4/1/2025. The recommendation is an explanation to the
State of what the water supply plans to initiate in order to reduce the amount of lead and copper exposure
to its consumers. Failure to submit the recommendations in a timely fashion has resulted in a reporting
violation.

ORSD is using a 30% ortho and 70% polyphosphate blend. As of now, Hawkins Chemical is analyzing
Well #2 (water source).
